Shoes to fit each foot! Tracing & Measuring | Price List & Policy
How to Order Your Herseys

First things first
The first time you order shoes from us, we will need some info about you as well as accurate measurements and tracings of your feet. If you can come visit us in person, great. However, we have successfully produced thousands of custom-made shoes for customers we have never laid eyes on. Only if you have a severe foot-related health condition, like rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes, or an actual deformity of the foot, would I need to measure you myself or else have you get a cast made. If this is your situation, let us know and we'll work something out.

What to do
From humble beginnings come great shoesReview the information in the shoe section and Hersey custom prices to determine what you want for shoes. (Other sections of this web site that may be helpful to you in this process are frequently asked questions and the anatomy of a Hersey.) Proceed from here to the Customer Questionnaire and Shoe Order Form page, and fill out all the pertinent info. Then read the instructions for measuring your feet and go to work.

When you're done
When you have completed the Order Form, you will be instructed to print out the Order Confirmation. Mail that to us along with your foot tracings and a check or money order for the amount indicated. When we receive them, we'll send an acknowledgment and let you know when you can expect delivery. If we have any questions for you, which is often the case, we'll give you a call just to make sure everything's straight.

Where to send it all

Instructions for measuring & tracing your feet
You just stand there. Let someone else do the workWhile it's very important that it be done correctly, measuring your feet is not as difficult as you might think. If you follow these instructions, you can do a good job.
  1. Place a piece of paper larger than your foot on a firm, flat surface (not a rug). Letter size (8.5 X 11) paper works well for up to size 14 feet.
  2. Wearing the socks that you intend to wear in your shoes, stand upright on the paper. If you wear orthotics, please be standing on top of them.
  3. Using a standard size pencil or pen, have someone else trace the outline of each foot, being sure to hold the pencil perpendicular to the paper.
Your Foot Tracing may look something like this
  4. Starting at Point A (the back of the arch where your heel and arch meet), angle the pencil to follow the contour of the arch, then trace this line to Point B. (See illustration.)
  5. With a cloth measuring tape, slide the tape under your forefoot at the widest point and measure the full circumference. The tape measure should be comfortably snug on the foot. If you wear orthotics, the tape should run UNDER them.
  6. Slide the tape to Point A, the back of the arch. Measure the full circumference from this point around the top of your foot where the top eyelet on your shoes would be. Again, if you wear orthotics, please include them in the measurement.

If you have any questions, doubts or concerns, please call me and we'll go through the steps together.
